Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to publicize the upcoming boxing match.
Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather criticized ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.
Financial Attraction
However, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making huge earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters participated in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly happening.
